Wal-Mart doesn’t carry them. Best Buy gave up on them a couple of years ago. VHS is dead to new movies, but the format is still alive but dying. Not many people are recording on DVD like they did with VHS and not many record on VHS that much any more. Over the years people have recorded a lot of movies, shows and family videos on VHS. With so many VHS tapes in people’s homes there will be a need for years to come for players.
Everyone needs to start converting their old VHS to DVD or other digital formats. The VHS format is dying, but is not dying at the pace that many would have us believe. People will want to continue to use their VHS tapes for years to come. Get the tapes converted as soon as you can, but don’t worry about not being able to find a player, they will be around for a little while longer.
